Halloween Mudroom Decor

Seasonal Decor

Halloween is a big deal at our house. I tend to go big with the decor because my kids get so excited!! I have wanted to decorate a mudroom for my kids for years, the problem is until about 6 months ago we didn’t have a mudroom. Our home’s floorpan didn’t have come with one so in February of this year we decided to convert our hall closet into a much needed mudroom! You can checkout that project here! Now because of this I finally get to create the spooky mudroom I have been wanting to do for years!

The first thing I did was look for some witches capes and hats, I wanted these to hang on the hooks of the lockers in the mudroom. I found the perfect ones at Walmart that were super affordable, but to dress them up just a bit I had a sparkly tulle and black lace cut to size from the fabric department at Walmart.

I also wanted to add some spooky decor to the top of the lockers so I grabbed a faux skull and these adorable baskets. These are great because they match my Halloween decor but the are also practical storage I will continue to use all year long! Finally I add some bats to the wall and a seasonal sign. I also made some DIY witches brooms that were so easy and fun to make! Check out how I made them here!

The best part of this whole mudroom Halloween makeover was my kids had no idea I was doing this while they were at school and when they came home they were so surprised! My littlest one had the biggest smile on his face when he went to put his backpack away. You can watch my video here to see how I put this whole space together!

I had a blast decorating this space and my kids loved it too. Halloween time is such a fun time of year and we celebrate it all month long around here!!

Fall Dining Room Decor + Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Seasonal Decor

Fall is making its appearance around our home and I couldn’t be happier. This is my favorite time of year! I love the crisp cool air, the sweaters and boots, pumpkin spice everything, and of course the Fall decor!

I love the warm color palette Fall brings to my home – it instantly gives it such a cozy vibe! This year I’m drawn to deep burgundy, gold, cream, and rust colors for the season. My dining room was one of the first places I decided to decorate this year, and that meant a trip to Walmart. It’s one of my favorite places to find affordable decor and this season they didn’t disappoint

Walmart is where I found my all time favorite dish set. They are great year round, but with the gold rim on this set and color palette I’m going with this Fall, they are perfect. I wanted to do a mixed table setting so I paired them with the black Onyx Stoneware set with the same gold detail around the edge that I love so much! These two sets together are beautiful and can be dressed up or dressed down for casual dining!

Next, I put together the centerpiece. I found the perfect dried eucalyptus in the deep burgundy color I’m loving right now. I grabbed a few bunches to add to my vase for a warm, classic feel for my dining room centerpiece.

I didn’t need a lot to make this space feel like Fall and I didn’t need to spend much either thanks to the prices at Walmart! The only thing missing to get fully into the season is my favorite Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies! I have been making this same recipe every year since my kids were little. It’s going on 15 years now and we all look forward to it each year! Here’s my favorite Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe:

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 27 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with a baking mat. Combine pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla and egg in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.

Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, pumpkin spice and salt. Mix until all combined. Stir in chocolate chips, don't over mix.

Use a cookie scoop or spoonfulsof the dough and place them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-13 minutes, or until a toothpick comes clean.

Remove from oven and let cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.

I love Fall! It’s definitely my favorite time of year. The crisp air, cute sweaters, pumpkin EVERYTHING (give me all the pumpkin spice) and of course the Fall decor. I have put together a round up of my favorite Fall finds this year. It has been so fun and I can’t wait to start decorating my home for Fall!!

Faux florals are one of my favorite things to switch out in my decor for each season and these are some of my favorite ones to really bring in that Fall vibe!

Adding in and switching out your throw pillows and blankets are an easy and affordable way to add a splash of seasonal decor to you home. Make the perfect cozy space to cuddle up when those temperatures start to drop!

Finally, Fall wouldn’t be Fall without pumpkins and candles, right?!? Here are a few of

my favorite picks this year!

Easter Basket Round-Up

I always have so much fun putting together Easter Basket goodies for my kids. One thing I don’t love is filling their baskets with tons of candy. I like to find some alternatives to mix in with a few of their favorite candies! As my kids have grown I have also had to get more creative, since my teenage daughters aren’t going to be interested in the same things I put in my 6 year old son’s basket…..haha!!

This year I decided to get all my kids new Easter baskets, and when I saw these personalized wood baskets from 12timbers I fell in love! The best part about these is they will last for years to come. I’m excited to start a new tradition with these adorable Easter Baskets

Easter Laundry Room Decor

How many hours a week do you think you spend in your laundry room? When I sat down and really thought about it I was shocked!! With this being such a highly used room I decided to give it a little Spring/Easter update like the rest of my home. I’m convinced it makes doing the laundry that much more enjoyable!!
I added a Spring wreath on the door, a set of cute ceramic bunnies on the floating shelves above my washer and dryer, and a fun letter board on the wall to change out the quotes during the year! It was fun to dress up this space with some seasonal decor but the stars of the room are my Samsung FlexWash Washer and Samsung FlexDry Dryer #sponsored I can honestly say after updating my washer and dryer to these beauties from Samsung I actually enjoy doing the laundry. Say what?! I know I’m as shocked as you!! Although there are so many things I love about these machines I have to say by far my favorite is being able to was 2 loads at once – one regular load and one delicate or small load in the top. Talk about a game changer!

Now if that doesn’t make you feel like a super mom or super dad I don’t know what does! You can find out more about these awesome machines here: FlexWash Washer and Electric FlexDry Dryer Now I’m off to do about 100 more loads of laundry in my newly decorated Spring laundry room!!

Seasonal Decor

Thanks for coming over from Grace In My Space blog!!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and this year I had so much fun decorating my home, including my twins’ bedroom!! (they loved it so much this may become an annual thing) This year I was drawn to this gorgeous mustard yellow and pops of gold. They were the center of my decor, and because my home has a neutral color pallet, it was easy to add in a pop of seasonal color with minimal changes! I hope you enjoy my Fall Home Tour!

Entryway

My Fall entryway was probably my favorite spot I put together this year!!
Links for this space below

The faux plants are from Hobby Lobby and the grey bins are from Home Goods. The ladder is from Decor Steals but it’s sold out at the moment. All other items are no longer available or are from local boutiques.

Kitchen

In my kitchen I kept it pretty simple. I added a seasonal wreath and some faux florals in that mustard color I’m loving. Then I added in one of my favorite fall candles and it instantly had all the fall feels!
Links for this space below

The faux florals are from Hobby Lobby.

Dining Room

In our formal dining room I did a fun tablescape with 2 types of garlands and different height candles. This ended up being really budget friendly because I used some old candle holders and painted them all black to match!

My husband and I built the table, benches, and side table. The lamps are from Hobby Lobby a few years ago and the sign is from Harper Grace

Guest Room

In our guest room I have a very neutral color pallet, so adding in some pops of mustard with the throw pillows, blanket, and garland brought in all the cozy fall feels!

My husband and I built the headboard. The windows are vintage and the sign has been discontinued.

Living Room

In our living room I dressed up the fireplace with these beautiful fall wood signs and a pop of mustard with the garland! I brought in a few fun pillow covers for a seasonal change and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

My sofas are from RC Willey and the coffee table is no longer available.

Twins Bedroom

My twins got such a kick out of me adding fall feels in their room! It was easy with some cute pumpkins. Changing out their pillows and throw blankets also gave it just the right touch!

Bedding and Blankets (Use Code: GREYBIRCH20 to save 20%)

My husband and I built the beds. The lockers are form Hobby Lobby and the trunks are vintage army footlockers. I found the pumpkins at the dollar spot at Target.

Sunroom

In our sunroom I put together a fun tablescape with pops of mustard and apples as my inspiration!

My husband and I built the table. The rug is from Ruggable The vases are from RC Willey and the florals are from Kirklands

Summer Tablescape

Seasonal Decor

Join me and some of my favorite blogger friends for some summer tablescape inspiration!! If your here from Sarah at Grace In My Space thank you so much for stopping by!!

One of our favorite things to do during the summer is eat dinner outside, and that calls for a pretty table setting! I like to keep it pretty simple and I love incorporating a mix of outdoors and indoors into my table setting.

I used some potted flowers in vintage metal buckets as the focal point of my center piece. This gives me the element of the outdoors and makes a beautiful statement piece. I also used two different sized buckets to bring in that visual element of varying sizes that is appealing to the eye. I then filled in the spaces of my centerpiece with vintage candle holders. This does two key things – it brings the element of indoor dining to the outside, and it perfectly fills in the spaces around the buckets with a variety of heights and textures, making it very visually pleasing!
For the actual table setting I used buffalo check outdoor place mats, because nothing screams outdoor summer dining like buffalo check! Am I right!?! Then I used a mix of white and tope dishes, tapping into the earthy color tones, and accented them with simple black napkins! This set up is a great accent to the centerpiece by playing on the similar colors, but not taking away from the star of the show!
We are looking forward to lots of outdoor dining this summer and soaking up everything this space has to offer!!
